BENEFIT RIDE ON HORSEBACK
for
OLIVIA MALLET
Olivia is the 16 year old daughter of Patti and Adam Mallett. Olivia was diagnosed with Leukemia last year, this year she underwent bone marrow transplant with her sister being the donor. The medical bills for both children and medication costs are extremely high. This OHC family needs our support. Olivia is an avid horse lover and until she became ill she enjoyed trail riding with her Grandpa Bill Franklin and barrel racing. She also enjoys cheerleading, sports and dance.
Please help us help them.

Adopt a mile program - each club member is asked to adopt a mile within their trail - or a trail of your choice if your not a Guernsey OHC member - the adopt a mile plan is simple - throughout the year you take responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of your adopted mile - more then one member can adopt the same mile and work as a team. Any major route changes or work that needs to be done must be pre-approved by Hal Harper - Salt Fork Park Ranger - take your suggested changes to Bob Oakley - Guernsey OHC President and he will take it to Hal. At the end of the year there will be a contest on the most improved and best kept trail miles. Guernsey OHC maintains the "Blue Trail" at Salt Fork, Licking County OHC adopted the Orange Trail at Salt Fork and Muskingum OHC had adopted the White Trail. Please check with your OHC chapter to determine who has adopted what trail this year. Remember, more then one chapter can adopt the same trail. The White trail has 2 loops and the Purple Trail has not been adopted by any chapter.
Call Bob Oakley for more information on maintaining the trails at Salt Fork Horseman's Camp.
If you work a certain amount of time on the trails you can camp for free.
Here is the camp rates for 2008
The horse camp fees are as follows: $14 per night Sunday through Thursday and $15per night Friday and Saturday (Memorial Day through Labor Day), $16 Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights of Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. The off season camping fee is $12 per night.

You will need to use your back button to return to Guernsey OHC
website
We have all been there or by the grace of god escaped it, but if your trailering your horse you take the chance of breaking down. US Rider is being recommended by some of our fellow OHC members. None of our riders have had the unfortunate use of their service, however we want to pass the link along so that you can make a choice.
Guernsey OHC does not indorse US Rider or any other auto club at this time.

In order to support our State OHC and provide an incentive to grow our chapter, we have voted to pay for 1/2 of each members insurance for this year 2007. While normally money raised is used to improve Salt Fork Horseman's camp and other events and endeavors that come up, we felt that this was the best use of our monies this year. We estimate the cost to the club to run around 450-500.00. No plans were made or are being made to make this an ongoing procedure however without growth clubs become stagnate and then support for our State OHC and any work we wish to accomplish at Salt Fork Horseman's camp will not happen. We do not suggest that all clubs follow suite but sometimes it is good to give back to the membership.....HORSEMEN HELPING HORSEMEN
